For anyone who wants to take a bit of Liège with them, the artists Schälling | Enderle* have designed a medallion representing a detail from the capital of a pillar (circa 1180) in the former Saint-Lambert Cathedral in Liège.
The sandstone capital is on display at the Le Grand Curtius museum.
The motif depicts the conflicts between the forces of good and evil, as interpreted in the Romanesque period. However, our own time also leaves room for interpretation of this unusual object.
The medallion, 4 cm in diameter and in various shades of artificial resin, is on sale at Matin tranquille B&B and at the Archéoforum for €18.
*The Berlin artists Schälling | Enderle have lived in Liège for many years. They are renowned for their contemporary art based on stone.
They express their love of the city and the country in many different ways. This is also the case in the pieces presented here, which are committed to protecting and safeguarding our cultural heritage.
