Neighborhood
The street owes its name to the belgian painter Auguste Donnay
In the close neighborhood, you'll find:
- at the corner of our street and rue de Campine you will find a bus stop to go downtown, a pharmacy, a small pizzeria and a small convenience store
- three parks !
1. Parc de la Paix : less than 300 yards away from Matin tranquille, through the lovely stairs in rue des Églantiers (charming when the cherry trees are blooming!), from the top of the stairs you'll have a glance at the parc de la Paix (freedom park). You get there by crossing rue de Campine, then slide down the steep rue Fond de Pirette. Near the entrance of the park is a nice playground for kids.
2. Parc Naimette-Xhovémont and its renowned sport center are just up our street.
3. Parc de la Citadelle (Citadel park), is a 10-minutes walk: you will find a vast area circling the hospital, and an access to the path of the Côteaux de la Citadelle (city slopes)
You'll have a choice nearby of many small restaurants (grill house, vietnamese, greek, tunisian and a sushi bar). Upon request, I'll gladly send you a list of restaurants in the neighborhood and some suggestions downtown.
Matin tranquille is part of the association D’une chambre à l’autre
